Towering idea for the beach
Courier Mail | 16 November 2007

A $51MILLION residential tower is to be built on one of the only remaining developable sites at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.

The tower, to be known as XXV Breaker Street, is being developed by joint venture partners, the Macquarie Group of Companies, Parkview Group and Davids Group.

The 25-level tower will feature predominantly single floor apartments. It is being marketed by TOTAL Project Marketing, headed by Adrian Parsons.

Mr Parsons said there was an increasing demand for large beachsideapartments that offered an alternative to freestanding homes.

"Buyers are also attracted to these apartments as their size offers a home in the sky, meaning there is no downsizing of living space and views are maximised," he said.

Mr Parsons said with few remaining development opportunities in Main Beach, interest had already been strong. In all there will be 26 apartments with seven half floor apartments, 18 whole floor apartments and a penthouse that spans three floors.

The project, designed by Dale Cohen Architects, is on a 2248sqm parcel of land that is close to Tedder Ave and the beach.
